Resolving pollution problems
Our origins go back to IPTC AG in Zurich, which was founded in 1947 and at that time operated as a trading corporation. The company took its first step into environmental and filtration technology in 1969, when it developed its own "solutions to emission problems". Soon the production area was no longer sufficient; in 1991 the production was moved into a small town near Zurich.
99% separation efficiency
What modestly began with the production of industrial filters for the machine tool industry grew quickly to a local success story. The reputation increased and IPTC AG was taken over by the HaSiRi Group. At the same time, the company was moved to Andelfingen and renamed UT99, which stands for "environmental technology" and "99%" separation efficiency. For the filters of that time, this meant an impressive achievement. As a result, UT99 further developed into a filter specialist and became a synonym for outstanding separation performance.
Groundbreaking filter media
Thanks to the distinctive expertise in manufacturing complex housings and innovative filter media, it was possible to produce new and revolutionary filter systems in 2006, which led to various unique selling propositions in oil mist separation. The continuously increasing requirements for reduced emissions on one hand, and the required performance increase on the other hand led to the breakthrough of UT99. As the only company that was able to meet the increased demands of the industry, various globally leading engine manufacturers as well as the energy industry became aware of the superior UT99 technology. As a result, its technology was quickly integrated into their applications - with stunning success. Within a few years, UT99 became the world's number one supplier of heavy-duty oil mist separators for large gas and dual-fuel engines from 0.25 to 32 MW as well as the preferred solution to the oil and gas turbine industry. The number of units sold increased rapidly and as a result, a new factory was built in 2013. Only two years later, the 100'000th UPF filter unit was delivered.
Sustainable success
More than ever, the basis for the company's success is to focus on R&D, engineering/design, the extension in the product and service range, the continuous improvement of all production processes (CIP) and a qualified, competent customer support. This makes UT99 what it is today: A highly specialized, successful manufacturer in the technologically demanding field of oil mist separation. Well-founded knowledge, innovation in defined niches as well as the highest standards in uncompromising quality and delivery reliability are the prerequisites for continuing, sustainable success. Since 2016, UT99 belongs to Artum AG, a steadily growing, independent SME industrial group owned by Swiss entrepreneurs.

UT99 has been a member of Storskogen Schweiz AG, a steadily growing, independent, privately owned group of companies, since June 2021.
